This webinar is on collaboration and community in sickle cell. Dr. Nik Abdul Rashid and Ms. Linetta Barnes from Nevada will present on how a clinical group and community-based organization work together to improve care and quality of life for people living with sickle cell disease. Dr. Rashid is a practicing Pediatric Hematologist-Oncologist in Las Vegas, NV. Ms. Barnes is the mother of a 13-year-old Sickle Cell Warrior, an adult critical care registered nurse, and the president/founder of the Sickled Not Broken Foundation of Nevada.
Ms. Mary Brown and Ms. Jennifer Fields from the Sickle Cell Disease Foundation of California (SCDF) will present on how sickle cell data can help a community-based organization follow up with patients. Ms. Brown has been President and CEO of the SCDF for nearly 20 years. Ms. Fields is the founder and president of The Hills Tandem, a group that works primarily with non-profit organizations as a change agent to improve overall organizational impact.
